Overview
This role is multi-faceted and requires an individual who possesses a number of key competencies to be successful. This role is the primary point of contact to customers of NLBC. This individual must possess a extensive depth of knowledge about our mission, beers, and the environment. Prior knowledge or experience in the beer industry or working for environmental groups is a plus. This individual must be able to lift 75 lbs on occasion. This position is part time (10-30 hours/wk).
Key responsibilities and duties
- Greeting customers coming into NLBC and quickly and effectively answering any questions with a smile.
- Effectively asking customers questions, making recommendations where appropriate, and serving them quickly and efficiently.
- Handling customer problems quickly and effectively.
- Educate customers on our beer manufacturing process, styles of beer we sell, along with describing the unique flavor profiles.
- Enthusiastically convey a passion and knowledge of the local environmental challenges facing the central coast of California.
- Smoothly complete customer transactions via our POS system.
- Maintain adequate inventory of all back-of-bar stock.
- When required, change out empty kegs in cooler.
- Keep premises, including bathroom, clean and orderly.
